Our second value at Friendship Church is “Relationship Oriented”. This is a tough one for me. I’m a detailed, getting-things-done type of guy and it often causes me to forget why we do what we do. I say to myself, “It’s the people, stupid.”
Being relationship oriented is key to any ministry. People need to know they are valued by you before they can understand how valued by Christ they are. It’s time to get intentional, to remember that it’s about the people. Relationships matter. Let everything you do go through that filter and the filter of Christ. That’s a huge win.
“The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”
(Luke 4:18-19, NIV)
How are you building relationships? How do you stay relationship oriented?
